555 Basement Water Flooding Alarm Circuit
This inexpensive 555 water flood alarm circuit can be used to signal an alarm when flooding or water seeps into a basement or any other area.
Liquid in any form is a conductor and the device has applications in many other areas.
Two metal probes ( small copper roof flashing available from Home Depot) are attached to the unit above and placed about ΒΌ inch from each other. When a liquid flows between the probes the device is turned on and emits a 500 Hz tone through the small 8 Ohm speaker.
